This is a special crucifix for Priests and all Consecrated individuals.

The Rays behind and surrounding the head of Christ represent Christ Crucified for us and his Divine nature. Christ defeated Sin and its Consequences through His death upon the cross. Skull and Crossbones -- signifies dying to our old self and to the world and all its allurements; it is placed under the feet of Christ to show how Our Blessed Lord triumphed over death and sin through His death on the cross and resurrection.

The Sacred Heart on the back of the cross which is surrounded by the crown of thorns expresses the Love of Christ and His suffering for us.

Also, it signifies that we must suffer as Christians Imitating Christ in His life of Sacrifices.
